Marmaris is a port city on the Mediterranean coast located in southwest Turkey. Far and away the largest source of income for the city is tourism. During the peak of the tourism season, the population swells to 400,000 people.

The cosmopolitan charms of Marmaris will surprise anyone with its variety of resorts and entertainment. Locals refer to Marmaris as the Turkish Rivera. The old quarter of the town, with its bustling bazaars and restaurants, is well worth a visit. During the day, people head for the beaches to parasail, water ski, sail, scuba dive and catamaran.
Annual Marmaris Yacht Charter Show
The Marmaris Yacht Charter Show originally began as a small get together in 1980 when three people with sailing yachts invited a small number of Yacht Charter agents to join them for a short cruise along the Turkish coast. Word got out very quickly around the world that the Turkish coast was a very unique and beautiful cruising ground for yachts.
May of 1981 saw the beginning of the Marmaris Yacht charter show and festival which has become an annual event in which charter agents and brokers from around the world are given an opportunity to see the “Turkish Fleet” of charter yachts, meet their crew and familiarize themselves with the area.
Over the years, this event has grown to include many more activities, including a fun race around Marmaris Bay, a Spring Regatta and a trade show with numerous local and national exhibitors. The Marmaris Yacht Charter Show includes sleek classic sailing yachts and traditionally designed Turkish vessels; high-tech cruisers and mega-yachts. Today this festival has become an internationally recognized yachting event, attracting yacht charter agents and yachts from around the world.
Marmaris Yacht Charter Maritime and Spring Festival Race
The race takes place every May. The race lasts two days and the routes are inshore. The registration is free of charge, only an IRC 2008 certificate is needed to race.
Annual Marmaris Yacht Charter Channel Regatta
This offshore sailing race takes place in June and will be hosted in the crystal clear blue waters of the Aegean. This year the race will start in Marmaris, the first two days of the race will be an in-shore race in Marmaris, and the last two days of the regatta will be in Rhodes. Optimal sailing conditions should exist thanks to the blessed Mediterranean.
Marmaris Yacht Charter International Race Week
During this week, over 100 yachts and 1,000 racers from all over the world will convene to party and sail.
